Lanny Davis said Thursday that Michael Cohen was doing “pretty badly” when they last spoke a couple days ago.

“He was doing pretty badly. His family is uppermost on his mind. And you could see, as I watched the TV yesterday, this is a devastating experience,” Davis told Fox News.

Cohen, President Trump’s former personal lawyer, was sentenced to three years in prison on Wednesday for a slew of financial crimes and lying to Congress.

Responding to Michael Cohen’s sentencing hearing on Wednesday, MSNBC’s Nicole Wallace asked a simple question of Trump biographer Tim O’Brien: “Does it look to you like Donald Trump knows that he’s ‘bleeped’?”

“Oh, I think it definitely looks like he knows he’s ‘bleeped,'” O’Brien, who wrote the 2005 book “TrumpNation,” said. “And he’s cornered. And he’s spent a year and a half pointing at the Mueller investigation on a routine basis, nonstop, as a being witch hunt. And any time he starts tweeting at the investigation, or tweeting at the investigators, it’s usually when there’s a big shoe about to drop.”

Sen. Steve Daines (R-MT) said that even though “things got a little western” in the contentious Oval Office meeting between President Trump and Democratic leaders Tuesday, he was “proud” of the President’s performance.

“We elected President Trump, we elect Presidents, to ensure they protect our country. This is about border security,” Daines said on Fox News.
