Trump Camp Says He Didn't Notice Swastika In Tweet About Jeb Bush

Trump retweeted a photo posted by Twitter user @AndreaWeslien that included an image of Bush, the former Florida governor, next to a flag adorned with a swastika. The image is shown in the bottom right corner of this screenshot:

The retweet has since been deleted. A spokeswoman for Trump told Business Insider that the real estate mogul simply didn't see the swastika in the original tweet.

"This was retweeted by Mr. Trump like hundreds of others," spokeswoman Hope Hicks told the news outlet. "He did not see the accompanying image and the retweet has since been deleted."

It wasn't the first time Trump's camp said he inadvertently tweeted out Nazi imagery. This summer Trump tweeted a image that used a stock photo of soldiers wearing the uniform of the Waffen-SS, the military wing of Nazi Germany's Schutzstaffel, or SS. His staff said an intern accidentally tweeted the photo.

Deleting a tweet is a rare move for the billionaire, who's a prolific user of the social media service. But Trump did it last month after retweeting a diss of the Iowa voters who catapulted Dr. Ben Carson past him in the polls. He explained that a "young intern" shared the tweet and apologized.
