Could Barr Have a Problem?

I do think that’s Barr’s aim. The events of the last several days have stripped whatever veneer may have been left on the kind of operation Barr is running at DOJ, which is thoroughly corrupt, entirely given over to protecting the President and targeting his adversaries. Barr clearly feels some level of exposure and perhaps an untenable degree of pushback from senior figures at DOJ.

Don’t get me wrong. Barr isn’t having any second thoughts. He wanted in on Trump’s corruption in the worst possible way. Trump led him up to the 20 feet high dive and invited him to jump in. But post-acquittal unbound may be presenting him with new challenges to handling the corruption in an orderly way.
