Chipotle issued a dire warning last month -- if severe weather patterns hold up, it may be forced to stop serving guacamole due to rising prices.

The Washington, D.C. City Council on Tuesday passed a bill that would decriminalize marijuana possession in small amounts by a 10-to-1 vote, according to NBC Washington.

The measure replaces penalties for possessing up to one ounce of marijuana with a $25 fine. It also maintains penalties for smoking pot in public, even though an earlier version of the bill removed those penalties as well, according to NBC.

Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) this weekend said he heard a troubling description from Secretary of State John Kerry of President Obama's phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"I asked John Kerry, 'How was that conversation?' He said it was ominous, it was worrisome. There were no commitments made by Putin," Durbin said in a speech to the Ukrainian community in Chicago over the weekend, according to Buzzfeed.

A 5-year-old boy accidentally shot his father on Saturday while he was trying on a new holster in an Oklahoma City store, police told the Oklahoman.

Darren Wayne Lannou, a Texas resident with a conceal carry permit from Texas, was in the dressing room of a Bass Pro Shop. He took off his holster and placed it on a bench where his son was playing with a phone, according to the police report.

Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh on Monday explained why the movie he never saw, "12 Years A Slave," won Best Picture at the Oscars on Sunday.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) on Monday said that Congress should wait on a decision from Europe leaders before imposing economic sanctions against Russia.

"The most important thing is for us – the United States – to make sure that we don't go off without the European community," he told Politico. "We have to work with them. Their interests are really paramount if we are going to do sanctions of some kind. We have to have them on board with us."
