On Thursday, the Senate Foreign Relation Committee will also vote on the confirmation of six prominent Democratic fundraisers nominated to ambassador posts, according to the Sunlight Foundation. James Brewster was nominated to serve as the ambassador to the Dominican Republic, Dwight Bush to Morrocco, Robert Sherman to Portugal, Timothy Broas to the Netherlands, Crystal Nix-Hines to UNESCO and Pam Hamamoto to the United Nations in Geneva.

Barber, Sherman, Gilbert and Hamamoto each raised more than $1 million for the president in the 2012 cycle, according to the New York Times bundler tracking tool.

It is not uncommon for presidents to nominate prominent fundraisers to ambassadorships. Obama nominated nineteen campaign fundraisers to ambassador posts between January and July 2012, according to The Hill.

Correction: An earlier version of this story stated that Obama nominated Brewser, Bush, Sherman, Broas, Nix-Hines and Hamamoto on Thursday. He had already nominated them last week. The Senate Foreign Relations Committee will vote on their confirmation on Thursday.
