Nashville Metro Police spokesman Don Aaron said the gunman, who burst into a screening of "Mad Max: Fury Road," has been tentatively identified as a 51-year-old local white man. Authorities were looking into the content of two backpacks the suspect brought with him, one of which was left behind in the theater.

This incident came just two weeks after a Louisiana man opened fire at a screening of "Trainwreck" in Lafayette, Louisiana, killing two people and injuring nine.
