The Washington Post reported Friday that federal prosecutors want to treat the McDonnell children "as 'adverse' witnesses and ask them leading questions."

The former Virginia governor and his wife were indicted in January and charged with more than a dozen counts related to the tens of thousands of dollars in gifts and loans they accepted from a wealthy Virginia businessman. The McDonnells have denied wrongdoing and pleaded not guilty.

According to the Post, Maureen McDonnell is unlikely to take the stand.
