Limbaugh: GOP Most 'Irrelevant' Political Party I Can Remember

Limbaugh charged that Republican leaders in Congress have failed to push their policy beliefs.

"There may shave been votes against this or that," he said. "But in terms of ... a package of principled beliefs of opposition expressed daily by party leaders against what's happening in this country, there hasn't been."

A week ago, Limbaugh was singing a different tune. He applauded Sen. Ted Cruz's efforts to defund Obamacare, and said that the effort was a success no matter the outcome.

"The defund effort, to me, happened to be attractive because it was led finally by somebody who could articulate conservatism. Ted Cruz," Limbaugh said on his show last week about the push to defund Obamacare. "Maybe there's a point where it's considered successful even if they don't reach that specific goal."

Limbaugh also said last week that conservatism is not about policy victories.

"You know, conservatism is not a list of policies," Limaugh said. "Conservatism is a way of life that is rooted in values and traditions that have contributed to the greatness of this country."
