Kevin O’Dowd has been Christie's chief of staff since 2012. The legislative committee investigating the bridge scandal announced last week that it had subpoenaed O'Dowd.
O'Dowd supervised Bridge Kelly, the former Christie administration official most closely linked to the lane closures, which caused a multi-day traffic jam in Fort Lee, N.J. last September. O'Dowd's testimony Monday may finally clear the way for Christie to nominate him to be the state's next attorney general -- a move that was put on hold after the bridge scandal blew up earlier this year.
