Fiorina Mocks The Idea That 'Hormones' Affect A Woman's Fitness For Office

“I was asked on a national television program whether a woman’s hormones prevented her from serving in the Oval Office,” Fiorina told a crowd of fairgoers. “My response was: Can we think of a single instance in which a man’s hormones might have clouded his judgment?”

Her comments could be seen as a thinly veiled jab at fellow Republican candidate Donald Trump, who suggested that Fox host Megyn Kelly directed a tough line of questioning toward him during the first presidential debate because there was “blood coming out of her wherever.” Many took the remark as a reference to Kelly’s menstrual cycle, though Trump insisted it was not.

The comments may also have served as a shot at former President Bill Clinton, the spouse of current Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton.

Fiorina previously told CNN that Trump’s comments “were completely inappropriate and offensive” and that “women understood that comment.”
