As TPM's Tierney Sneed reported, Obama's latest Wall Street regulation has Republicans in a tizzy. GOP lawmakers are trying to stall it with a bill saying the SEC has to take the lead. However, legally speaking, the SEC's ability to address the issue—financial advisors’ conflicts of interest—is limited. Additionally, in terms of any regulation the agency can enact, SEC head Mary Jo White has signaled is not coming soon.

From a TPM Prime member: "I a little surprised that the HPV vaccine, one of the great triumphs of modern science, has not yet appeared in the clown conference. We know how to eliminate 90% of the cases of cervical cancer, through mass immunization, and these monsters prefer to keep the disease around to scare the young people into an improbable and never-before-seen-anywhere obedience to the abstinence-dictates of Pappy (which will in any case not slow down the incidence of the cancer, since the virus is not gender-specific)."
