Former Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin said Wednesday that the nuclear deal with Iran was a mistake as enormous as Alaska’s Mt. McKinley, opting to use the name that many Republicans prefer, after President Obama’s announcement to restore the peak's Alaska Native name, Denali. As TPM's Sara Jerde points out, Palin referred to the peak as Denali in previous public speeches.

Agree or Disagree?

Amanda Marcotte writes that Republicans' comically overwrought meltdowns over the Iran nuclear deal are "pure political theater, being conducted not because of any serious convictions about the deal itself but simply to stir up irrational fears to be harped on for the rest of the election season."

Say What?!

BUZZING: Today in the Hive

From a TPM Prime member: "What sort of employees does Whole Foods have that they simply cannot handle a dispute with a customer without a security guard becoming involved? Does no one get training on how to defuse situations?

And then the guard walks the young man outside, throws him against a concrete pillar, places him in a chokehold until he passes out, and then leaves him lying there as he locks the store door and stands guard. Not one of the Whole Foods employees called for medical assistance as this young man lay unconscious outside their door in a pool of blood. A customer called for help and stayed with the young man until that help arrived. The responding Fire Department then called the Police.

Really, Whole Foods? This is the "team" you have working there? The security guard was apparently an employee of a security company and not a direct employee of Whole Foods. Said guard has now been banned from Whole Foods--well, whoop-de-doo, foist him on the rest of an innocent population."
